The team at Wilks Water has built a network of water partners, with extensive local knowledge, strategically located throughout the Murray Darling Basin. This gives our clients access to the best in the business throughout NSW, Victoria and South Australia.

Community Involvement

Wilks Water are proud to operate across the Murrumbidgee, Murray and Lachlan Valleys, and as such, strongly believe in supporting the communities that support us. Each year, Wilks Water strives to give back to the local communities in all the areas in which we work.

Some of the groups and organisations we support can be found below.

Darlington Point Coleambally Rugby League Football Club

The Darlington Point Coleambally Rugby League Football Club are Group 20 main stays, and a consistent force in local Rugby League. Formed as a merger between Darlington Point and Coleambally R.L.F.C.'s following an appeal to Country Rugby League, the go ahead for the merger was given and the Darlington Point Coleambally Roosters were formed in 1973. Premiers of the 1980, 1983, 1987 and 1988 seasons.

Griffith Jockey Club

The inaugural meeting of the Griffith Jockey Club was held on December 12 1964, when a crowd of about 2,000 people enjoyed a six race program. After many rocky years in the early 2000s, the Griffith Cup of 2009 was run at Narrandera Racecourse as the Dalton Park track was bare dirt. Following on from the success of the 2009 Griffith Cup, the Committee got to work to grade and sow the track at Dalton Park over the summer months. Many working bees to bring the facilities up to ‘race day’ standard were held and the first race day at Dalton Park was held in September of 2010. A great crowd of 2,500 people enjoyed a six race program with the [yellow tail] Griffith Cup being the feature race. Fashions on the Field and entertainment for the children also ensured it was a day for all the family.

Jeans for Genes

Jeans for Genes is the iconic fundraising campaign of Children’s Medical Research Institute. Each year, Australians unite by wearing their favourite jeans and outdoing each other with crazy denim outfits, and donating money or purchasing merchandise, to support genetic research.
Every dollar raised on the day helps scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures, to give every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.

Light the Night

Light the Night is the Leukaemia Foundation's annual fundraising walk to help more Australians beat blood cancer. Families and friends will come together for a gentle walk carrying one of three coloured lanterns; gold to remember a loved one, white for their own blood cancer journey, or blue to show they care.

Nokor Tep Foundation Australia

The Nokor Tep Foundation Australia has been formed to support the Nokor Tep Foundation Cambodia's plans to develop improved health programs, facilities & services for the women of Cambodia. A volunteer based organization, with all directors and members working on a pro bono basis, all proceeds from fundraising and tax deductible donations will be sent to Nokor Tep Foundation Cambodia through Rotary Australia Overseas Aid Fund (Managed by RAWCS).

The Biggest Ever Blokes Lunch - Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia

The brainchild of former Victoria / Tasmania Board member the late Chris McPherson, the Biggest Ever Blokes Lunch concept has grown into Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia's largest community fundraiser. Since its beginnings in Shepparton in 2009, a total of 20,000 people have attended lunches and more than $2.7million has been raised for PCFA.
These lunches are now much anticipated, and although they are certainly lighthearted and enjoyable events, participants don't lose sight of the reason they are coming together: the importance of prostate health and raising awareness and funds for PCFA programs, including the support of three Prostate Cancer Specialist nursing positions based in regional Victoria.

Sweetheart Day

Sweetheart Day, held every year on February 14, is a chance for all Australians to get together to help our Aussie heart kids by funding vital support and life-changing medical research into childhood heart disease.
All funds raised through Sweetheart Day go towards helping HeartKids provide ongoing support for children with heart defects and their families all across Australia, as well fund life-saving research into childhood heart disease. HeartKids is a non-for-profit organisation that aspires to a life unaffected by childhood heart disease.

St Peter’s Primary School Fete - Coleambally

St Peter’s Primary School is a small co-educational Catholic School located in Coleambally. Our school motto is "Way, Truth and Life". We provide our students and families with a safe, happy and secure learning environment that encourages close relationships between parents, teachers and students. St Peter's was established in 1970 and was the first school in the Wagga Wagga Diocese with an all lay-teaching staff. It was created because local Catholic families saw the need for a local Catholic school. The population is made up of girls and boys from Coleambally and Darlington Point, as well as surrounding rural areas.

Circus Quirkus

International Entertainment’s CIRCUS QUIRKUS is a contemporary take on your favourite, traditional circuses of ages past. It is an eclectic and entertaining mix of Circus acts brought to you from all over the world. Internationally renowned Clowns, Jugglers, Acrobats, and more deliver funny, hugely engaging and sometimes death-defying acts of unbelievable skill.

Wagga Gumi 2018

The Gumi is an event for the Wagga Community and Regions to come together and enjoy a cruise down the Murrumbidgee River on home made rafts. The word “Gumi” is the Pidgin English word for [rubber] inner tube, also became a byword for ingenuity, engineering genius and at times just good old ‘rat cunning’!

Project: GO - Riding For The Stars

Supporting Graham O'Connell, a 30 year old from rural NSW, who has chosen to do a bike ride from Adelaide to his home town of Coleambally from the 19th-24th of March 2018. Graham was originally planning to raise funds for MS Australia after his Mum passed away just over 8 years ago from Multiple Sclerosis, which he is still planning to complete next year. Unfortunately recently a forty year old father of four young children in Coleambally was suddenly diagnosed with brain cancer and with the cost of immediate treatment being quite excessive, Graham felt as though they need more urgent help at this point in time, to try and relieve the financial burden while he undergoes treatment. And from this Project: Go has been born with our 2018 project being "Riding For The Stars." Feel free to look up Project: Go on Facebook and follow the journey.
