NSW Murray Temporary Trading Resumes

NSW Murray Temporary Trading Resumes

If you wish to buy or sell temp water in these dying stages of the season, this is your opportunity!

Please call our office immediately.

The following information was released from WaterNSW via social media;

"WaterNSW administers water trading under rules set by the Department of Primary Industries Water (DPI Water).

Trade will recommence after a WaterNSW review of regulations governing trade confirmed that, unlike many previous years, the current Murray Water Sharing Plan does not prohibit trade beyond 31 May this year.

WaterNSW is working with DPI Water to make key elements of the relevant regulations more prominent and readily available to all market participants

The service improvements follow change to trade scheduling implemented by WaterNSW in March this year to enhance confidence in the trade process and in market transparency."

ATO WEBINAR: THE REGISTER OF FOREIGN OWNERSHIP OF WATER

The ATO will be hosting a series of free webinars about foreign ownership of water access entitlements.

A webinar for water rights holders and their representatives will be held on Wednesday 21 June 2017.
From 1 July 2017, foreign investors may need to notify the ATO if they have certain water access entitlements or contractual water rights. This information will be used to create a Register of Foreign Ownership of Water, known as the Water Register.

Come along to this webinar to find out what type of water entitlements will need to be registered, when you need to register and who will need to register. The ATO will also be on hand during the webinar to answer any questions you may have.

Places in the webinar are limited. To register for the webinar, please head to ato.gov.au/waterregister.

Another webinar for Irrigation Infrastructure Operators will be held on Wednesday 28 June 2017.

If you are not able to attend the webinar, a recording will be made available on ato.gov.au/waterregister at a later date.

Learn About Australias Water Markets

Produced by the Department of Agriculture for the 2017 Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, this video was shot on location throughout Australia and provides an overview of Australia’s Water Markets and how they encourage efficient water use. Water markets and trading have played a significant role in allocating scarce water resources and this video is a great resource for learning how it works. We have been advised that we can freely share the video with our teams and contacts and on social media channels.
