We are pleased to announce that we are now seeking to grow our team in Griffith by engaging a Trainee Water Broker. You will be the first port of call for irrigators and investors - your clients will look to you to guide them through and simplify the water market. To be successful you will assist clients to secure the best deal available, whether they are buying or selling. Your main duties will be:

  • building meaningful and direct relationships with clients
  • ensuring that all trades are fiscally responsible, fulfil contract conditions and satisfy risk and statutory requirements
  • monitoring and understanding client demand & usage patterns and looking for opportunities to enhance their business
  • acting on any opportunities for increased business and market penetration

Generally speaking, successful Water Brokers have an inner drive to succeed and to make the most of their day. These are important qualities to have, given that most of a broker's day is likely to be spent on the phone looking for opportunities for prospective or existing clients. Other key skills that will come in handy are:

  • an ability to work autonomously
  • an ability to effectively communicate
  • an ability to negotiate
  • strong mathematical ability

We are open-minded about the career background of potential applicants. You could be an experienced professional in the water industry, you could be from another industry with transferable skills or alternatively an individual that has what it takes to learn new skills and succeed.
